The growth of the UK’s craft distilling sector helped Stirling based Allen Associates significantly boost its client portfolio during 2015.
The chemical and process engineering design consultancy saw a 100% increase in the number of enquiries from craft distillers over the year with six new clients brought on board in 2015.
"There is no doubt the craft distilling sector has seen significant growth over the past few years," said Allen Associates managing director, Scott Allen. “This is great news for the distilling engineering service sector as each project requires engineering support from a network of associated businesses – the majority of which are based in Scotland.
"We received 15 enquiries from craft distillers from January to December with several new projects and studies secured over the course of 2015. R&B Distillers, Holyrood Park Distillery, Edinburgh Whisky Ltd, Ardnamurchan Distillery and Rademon Estate Distillery have all benefited from Allen Associates experience and knowledge in distillery process design and compliance.
"It is also encouraging to see 2016 starting as 2015 finished, with continued growth in the craft distilling side of the business, a trend that we expect to continue through the year."
